The southern section of Serbia's Corridor 10 highway is now carrying traffic, with only final works needed to complete the link. This highway section measures 88km long and runs from Horgos to Bikovo, with all works on the highway section due to be completed by August 2011. Works on the 200km Corridor 10 section that runs from the Hungarian border through the City of Novi Sad, across the Beska Bridge over the Danube river and through to Belgrade is due for completion by early September 2011. The southern part will be 200km long. Work on the Horgos-Novi Sad section of the Corridor 10 highway is estimated to cost some ?97.74 million and the client is Serbian roads company 3235 Koridori Srbije.

    In Serbia plans are moving ahead with work on the Zezeljev Bridge. The structure will provide a new crossing over the Danube River for the city of Novi Sad. The new bridge replaces an old structure carrying both rail and road links that was destroyed by bombing in 1999. Construction of the new bridge forms part of an EU strategy for the Danube Region.     The new Bridge of Brotherhood and Unity, also known as Zezelj’s Bridge, across the Danube River in Novi Sad, Serbia, is officially open. The road and rail tied-arch bridge replaces the original bridge of the same name that was built in 1961, named after the designer Branko Zezelj. The designer of the new bridge is Aleksandar Bojović and the contractor was an international consortium of Azvi, Taddei and Horta Coslada. One of the two arches is 177m long and 34m high and the other is 219m long and 42m high.
