Russian road development continues for Kurgan and Krasnodar regions

New highway investment plans have been made for Russia’s Kurgan and Krasnodar regions. Some 240km of roads and 13 bridges are planned to be constructed in the Kurgan Region (Urals) by 2021. Overall the investment in transport links is estimated at close to US$489 million for the region. New highway investment plans have been made for Russia’s Kurgan and Krasnodar regions. Some 240km of roads and 13 bridges are planned to be constructed in the Kurgan Region (Urals) by 2021. Overall the investment in transport links is estimated at close to US$489 million for the region. Around $464.4 million of this will be provided by the regional budget, while the region expects to receive some $29.3 million from the federal budget. This investment will see 78% of the Kurgan Region’s road network being surfaced. Meanwhile Russia’s Krasnodar Region has also set a road fund of some $464.4 million for 2014. Of this some $366.6 million will be used for the repair of federal and regional roads, while $85.5 million will be used for the repair of country roads.

    Russia’s Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) set out an ambitious plan of road development projects for 2018 and is achieving its target. Compared with 2017, Rosavtodor increased its programme of road development for 2018 by 19.5%. Meanwhile Rosavtodor has planned to repair 8,400km of roads, with 97 of the planned works being completed ahead of schedule.     The authorities in Russia's Kranosyarsk region plan to set up a regional road fund for 2012 worth some US$279 million. Some of the funds will be spent on a fourth bridge over the Esiney River. Rural roads will also benefit from the regional road fund, with additional backing from Russia's Federal Government.
