Russia toll road development

A stretch of Russia’s M4 Do Federal Highway will switch to toll road operation. The stretch of road runs from Rostov-on-don to Krasnodar (South). The project will include upgrades to the route so as to improve safety and capacity. The work is expected to cost in the region of US$108 million.

    A new bypass project is being planned for Krasnodar in Russia. Building work for the Krasnodar’s North-West Bypass is expected to commence in 2018. The 57km bypass project includes building two overpasses and seven interchanges.     Official approval has been given for construction of a new Western bypass around Krasnodar in Russia. The PPP project is expected to cost US$515.4 million and the new link will provide a connection with the M4 Don federal highway. However it is also recognised that the cost of the tolled highway project could increase. The bypass will feature two lanes in either direction and will measure close to 53km long.     New highway investment plans have been made for Russia’s Kurgan and Krasnodar regions. Some 240km of roads and 13 bridges are planned to be constructed in the Kurgan Region (Urals) by 2021. Overall the investment in transport links is estimated at close to US$489 million for the region.
