Russia road deal for Sibmost

The Russian construction firm Sibmost is to handle contract to build a stretch of the M5 Highway in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Volga). The Russian construction firm 5872 Sibmost is to handle contract to build a stretch of the M5 Highway in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Volga). The deal is worth US$102.2 million and is for a 16km section of the highway. The project involves rebuilding the existing roadway and widening the route so that it will feature two lanes in either direction, boosting capacity and safety.

The M5 (E30) highway provides an important route across Russia. It provides a transport connection from Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan to the cities of Samara and Tolyatti to the west (eventually linking with Moscow), and to Chelyabinsk and the border with Kazakhstan to the east.
