Russia ring road for Kaliningrad

Road construction work is planned for Russia’s Kaliningrad region. A budget of US$130 million has been set, with the funding being supplied by Russia’s Federal Government. The prime beneficiary of this funding will be the project to construct the second phase of the ring road around the Primorsky area.

    Work is being planned on Melbourne's M80 ring road upgrade. This A$2.25 billion project is intended to cut congestion at peak periods, boost safety and reduce journey times for commuters and freight traffic. The project is due for completion in 2013 with some of the work already underway. The work includes an extra lane being installed on either side of the road between Sunshine Avenue and Furlong Road as well as widening of the freeway bridge over Furlong Road.

The 421km section of the A3 runs between Akwanga, Jos, Bauchi and Gombe and provides an important link between the centre of the country and Nigeria’s north east. A budget of US$973.6 million has been set for the work, which is expected to take four years to complete. The work involves widening the existing two lane highway into a dual carriageway with two lanes in either direction
