Rebuilding work on a key highway stretch in Belarus is now commencing. Upgrading and widening of the second stage of the M6 route which runs from Minsk, the capital of Belarus to the border with Poland is of key importance for the country’s international transport links. The highway provides a vital link in the route from Russia to Western Europe and the construction work is being carried out by contracting subsidiaries of Belavtodor Holding. The project is costing US$111 million and involves rebuilding 67km of the highway, with the work due for completion in 2019.
