The tender process is underway again for a 24km stretch of road in Poland. The new road section will connect the ring road around the town of Suwalki with Budzisko, which lies on the border with neighbouring Lithuania. The road is an important connection for Poland’s international transport as a result. The tendering process is being handled by the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). Offers have so far been received by Budimex, Unibep, Porr and Polaqua, with the lowest being €195.8 million. The project was originally to have been carried out by Italian firm Pizzarotti.
