Polish road project – bids submitted

Bids have now been submitted for a key Polish road project.

The bidding stage for the S19 road project in Poland is now being completed. The local contractor, Budimex, submitted the leading bid for the project.

The new dual carriageway will connect Bialystok Zachod with Bialystok Ksiezno junction. Budimex made a bid of close to €109 million for the work.

The S3 road from Nowa Sol to Hradec Kralove is among the Polish TEN-T road project works benefiting from the new EU fund. As part of the Connecting Europe Scheme, the €4 billion EU investment will also cover works on two major border road schemes: the S69 road from Bielsko-Biala, and the S61 from Augustow.

    Austrian contractor Strabag has won a stake in a design and build road contract in Poland. The project is worth a total of €133 million and involves building a section of highway carrying three lanes in either direction. The firm will work on the project to build another stretch of the A1 highway in Poland. The 17km long Section C begins at the Kamieńsk junction and ends at Radomsko, where the construction of a motorway interchange forms part of the order.
