AECOM has been awarded the contract for project management as well as design and construction supervision for a section of Poland’s S11 Expressway. The S11 Expressway is an important route for Poland as it connects the north of the country with the south. The expressway runs between Poland’s Baltic Coast and the Silesia Region, a distance of around 550km.

The contract is for work on a 16.8km section of the expressway in Northern Poland. This section will run southwards from the city of Koszalin and AECOM will feature several bridges along the route.

AECOM will work with the Polish National Roads Authority (GDDKiA) and will provide construction supervision, construction management and advisory work for this section of the expressway.

Improving the route will help to reduce pollution in urban areas and will lower congestion that occurs on the existing route. The work is due for completion in 2024 and is expected to help boost tourism as the S11 is the main route to Poland’s Baltic Sea coast.
