Key dual carriageway contracts are being agreed in Poland. One of the deals is for the S16 dual carriageway while the other is for the S19 dual carriageway. The contractor Porr has won the package of works for the S16 with its offer of €145 million for the project. This stretch of the S16 will run between Borki Wielkie and Mragowo. The project was originally offered for tender in May 2019 but this was stopped when none of the bids reached the necessary budget target for the work.

Meanwhile, the Chinese firm China Harbour Engineering Company has made the lowest bid for the section of the S19 between Rzeszow Poludnie junction and Babica. The company has offered to build the 10km stretch of the S19 for €278.4 million, which is considerably less than the competing bids. Once the project details are finalised work is expected to commence in 2020 and should take until 2025 to complete.
