PNCC-MPTC link-up for US$532.41mn Philippines road project?

Philippine National Construction Corp (PNCC) wants tollway operator Metro Pacific Tollway Corp (MPTC) to be its joint venture partner on a new US$532.41 million (PHP 22.95 billion) road project. PNCC is looking to build a 13km connector road between North Luzon and South Luzon expressways in the Philippines, and is said to be involved in discussions with MPTC.

The project is costing nearly US$430 million, with the link being built by local toll road firm NLEX Corp.     Work on a US$245.6 million expressway project is now underway in the Philippines. The 58km-long expressway will improve transport between the Southern Tagalog and Bicol Regions, reducing journey times for drivers while also improving safety. The first section of the Southern Luzon Expressway-Toll Road 4 (SLEX-TR4) to be built will be between Star Toll and Lucena, lying to the south of Manila. The SLEX-TR4 route is being constructed by South Luzon Tollways, itself a subsidiary of the firm San Miguel.
