The Peruvian government has announced that the US$182 million construction of a road to link Tacna (Peru) with La Paz (Bolivia), via Collpa, will begin in 2015. This new road will benefit more than 268,000 people living in the south of Peru.

The Peruvian government has announced that the US$182 million construction of a road to link Tacna (Peru) with La Paz (Bolivia), via Collpa, will begin in 2015. This new road will benefit more than 268,000 people living in the south of Peru.
Peruvian plans for infrastructure projects will see up to US$10.7 billion worth of concessions being awarded during 2013. This contrasts strongly with the $700 million awarded in 2012. One of the main highway projects is for the $552 million Longitudinal de la Sierra route. This will be put out to tender in the fourth quarter of the year according to Peru’s state investment promotion agency, ProInversión. Peru's Callejon de Huaylas-Chacas-San Luis road is to be improved and upgraded in a deal worth US$145 million. The road lies in the Ancash region and will be upgraded over a 99km stretch under the plan. The improvement work will be carried out by the Brazilian contractor Odebrecht, which is already active in the Peruvian market. This road upgrade forms part of Peru's plan to boost its transport links and help develop the economy.
