Paraguay project progressing to plan

Paraguay’s Bi-Oceanic Road project is progressing to plan.

Construction work for Paraguay’s Bi-Oceanic Road project is progressing to plan. Building of the route is being carried out by a consortium, Consorcio Corredor Vial Bioceanico, which comprises Queiroz Galvao and Ocho A.

So far 106km of the 277km route has been built. The project is costing an estimated US$445 million to construct and the work is being overseen by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

The funding comes in the shape of a US$222 million loan and this is the first time that the CAF has approved funding of this size for the country. This will provide partial funding for the Programme for the Improvement of Integration Corridors and Road Reconstruction.
