Paraguay plans PPP projects

A series of PPP projects are being planned in Paraguay to develop the highway network. Upgrade work will be carried out on Ruta 2 and Ruta 7. In all the work is costing US$527 million and is being overseen by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). A consortium, Consorcio Rutas del Este, will carry out the contract which includes resurfacing Ruta 2 and Ruta 7, as well as improving key intersections and carrying out widening work. A series of PPP projects are being planned in Paraguay to develop the highway network. Upgrade work will be carried out on Ruta 2 and Ruta 7. In all the work is costing US$527 million and is being overseen by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). A consortium, Consorcio Rutas del Este, will carry out the contract which includes resurfacing Ruta 2 and Ruta 7, as well as improving key intersections and carrying out widening work. The 142km link between Yparacai and Caaguaza will also be improved, which includes three birgdes and several bypasses. The project is planned for 2018.

  • Paraguay tender process opening for bids

    Paraguay is opening the tender process for construction work on the Alberdi-Pilar road. The tender is being handled by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). Work on the 96km route will include surfacing and the project is expected to cost just over US$131 million. Financing is being provided in the form of a loan from Fonplata.   • Paraguay project proving popular

    Interest is strong in Paraguay’s Costanera Sur project. So far six bids have been made to the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). The highway will connect Asuncion with Lambare and the project is expected to cost in the order of US$160 million to build. The work is due to commence in September 2019, taking around 30 months to complete. Contractors from Angola, Brazil and Spain are amongst those making bids, in partnership with local construction companies.
