Paraguay bridge tender process due to commence

The tender process for a key bridge link in Paraguay will commence in 2019. The Paraguayan authorities are working on the terms of the package of works for the project at present. The new bridge will be the second such link connecting Asuncion with Chaco'i. When complete, the new bridge will measure around 450m in length.

  • Road contract for Paraguay awarded

    The contract for Paraguay’s US$130 million Costanera Sur avenue project has now been awarded. Located in Asuncion, the road project will be handled by a consortium headed by the Spanish contractor Eurofinsa, and also including the Paraguayan firm Ingenieria de Topografia y Caminos. The 8.3km road link will features two lanes in either direction and will run alongside the Paraguay River. Included in the project will be the construction of three bridges.

    Interest is strong in Paraguay’s Costanera Sur project. So far six bids have been made to the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). The highway will connect Asuncion with Lambare and the project is expected to cost in the order of US$160 million to build. The work is due to commence in September 2019, taking around 30 months to complete. Contractors from Angola, Brazil and Spain are amongst those making bids, in partnership with local construction companies.
