Pakistan’s marble exports up 45% in July 2013-April 2014

According to All Pakistan Marble Mining Processing Industry and Exporters Association chairman Sanaullah Khan, marble exports totalled US$70 million (€51 million) from July 2013 to April 2014, a 45% year-on-year increase. China accounted for half of this amount, primarily semi-finished products, while other major importers include the USA, Europe, Middle East, Japan and South-east Asia. China accounted for half of this amount, primarily semi-finished products, while other major importers include the USA, Europe, Middle East, Japan and South-east Asia.

Over 90% of the exported marble originated from Balochistan province and the nearby city of Karachi.

Khan stated that exports could be increased many times more with the availability of an uninterrupted electricity supply.

    UK exports of construction and earthmoving equipment continued its upward trend in Q2 of 2017, showing growth for the fourth consecutive quarter. Overall, Q2 2017 levels were the highest for two years, since Q2 2015, according to the latest quarterly report from the UK’s CEA – Construction Equipment Association. Exports in Q2 2017, increased by 5.3% in weight terms (tonnage of machines) compared with Q1 2017 and 2% in monetary terms, reaching nearly €777 million (£714 million).
