Over US$2 billion for two Vietnam highway projects

More than US$2 billion will be invested for two Vietnam highway projects.

Two major highway projects for Vietnam will cost a total of US$2.3 billion.

One proposed project is for widening and upgrading work to a 15km stretch of Ring Road 3 around Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). This is expected to cost $1.2 billion and will improve the connection between HCMC and Binh Duong Province, with completion expected in 2026 if the schedule is adhered to.

The other project is for a section of the North-South Expressway to link Gia Nghia with Chon Thanh. This project is expected to cost nearly $1.1 billion, with construction starting in late 2024 and also due for completion in 2026.

Meanwhile, plans are in hand for the expressways connecting Tan Phu with Bao Loc and Bao Loc with Lien Khuong. Construction should commence before the end of 2024. The Tan Phu to Bao Loc expressway will be 66km in length and should cost $732.2 million while the Bao Loc to Lien Khuong expressway should cost $830.1 million
