A key highway deal has now been awarded in Norway by the country’s Public Roads Administration. The US$341.4 million package of works has been won by Skanska. The project will see the stretch of the route between Bærum and Hole being widened and improved. The project is important as the road provides a key link between Norway’s capital, Oslo, and the north of the country.

The road features only a single lane in either direction at present and also has a number of sharp curves. The project will see the road being upgraded so that it has two lanes in either direction while the sharp curves will be removed.

The most complex portion of the project will be to build the four tunnel sections and eight bridges required for the new alignment. Construction work is planned to commence in February 2021.
