New Zealand highway project going ahead

Work is now going ahead on the new highway stretch to connect Peka Peka with Otaki, which will form part of the planned Kapiti Expressway. This 13km stretch of highway is being built by contractor Fletcher Construction. The package of works was awarded by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and involves designing and building the new link. Construction work will start in 2017 and is expected to take until 2020.

Work is now going ahead on the new highway stretch to connect Peka Peka with Otaki, which will form part of the planned Kapiti Expressway. The package of works was awarded by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and involves designing and building the new link. Construction work will start in 2017 and is expected to take until 2020.

The project will see the construction of a six lane link connecting State Highways 16 and 20 in Auckland.

    Work is underway on the Causeway Upgrade Project in New Zealand. The US$183.3 million (NZ$220 million) contract was awarded by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). The route forms part of State Highway 16, with the fork being part of Auckland's Western Ring Route. The contract was awarded to the Causeway Alliance, a consortium made up of Aecom, Coffey Geotechnics, Fulton Hogan, Leighton Contractors, Sinclair Knight Merz and the NZTA.

    New Zealand’s Waterview tunnel project in Auckland will provide a key link in, boosting capacity and safety while reducing congestion and journey times. A consortium will handle the work for the Waterview Connection road, in a deal worth $1.15 billion (NZ$1.4 billion).
