The Green Party in Sweden has proposed a motion to ban the use of mobile phones while driving. MP Stina Bergström of the Green Party says two-thirds of Swedes are in favour of some form of ban. She has highlighted the fact that Sweden is the only EU country that does not have limitations on mobile phone use while driving.
A borrowing plan of US$67.29 billion (THB 2tn) for new transport infrastructure projects has been presented to Thailand's parliament. Out of the total borrowing, $8.16 billion (THB 243bn) is earmarked for road development, and a further $409.36 million (THB 12.19bn) for road checkpoint development. Main transport projects include four high-speed rail route, ten mass transit projects and dual track railways. Vietnam’s Cuu Long Transport Infrastructure Management Investment and Development Corporation - Cuu Long Transport – is seeking approval for an expressway linking Ho Chi Minh City and the Cambodian border.

Malaysian construction group Bina Puri has submitted bids for contracts worth US$768.73 million for work on eight infrastructure projects, including the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway.
The 31.8km Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway will reduce traffic along the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 from Ampang to Bandar Tasik Selatan. There will be three toll plazas in Alam Damai, Taman Bukit Teratai and Ampang Indah.
