The Vietnamese Government is prioritising construction of the country’s North-South expressway project. Contractors are already being selected for the 11 sub-projects for the expressway, which is expected to come with a final pricetag of US$5.09 billion. The 2,100km route is being built in three separate phases and links 32 of Vietnams cities and provinces. The first 650km section will be complete by 2020. The other sections should be ready for traffic by 2025.
India’s Uttar Pradesh State has awarded a consultancy contract for two expressway projects. The two new routes are for the 150km Prayag Link Expressway and the 88.5km Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The consultancy contract will be carried out by KITCO, a state-owned company. Both expressways are to be built with two lanes in either direction, although the designs of both will allow for an additional lane in either direction at a later point in time if required by traffic demand.
The Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways – GDDKiA –reports that 14 bids have been received for construction of three sections of the S19 dual carriageway.
A consortium formed by Pizzarotti and Fundamental Infrastructure pitched the lowest bid for the Krasnik Poludnie - Janow Lubelski Polnoc section, amounting to nearly €80 million.
