New Vietnam highway construction starting

Construction work is starting on Vietnam’s Van Don-Mong Cai highway. Located in Quang Ninh Province in the north east of Vietnam, the 80km highway will feature two lanes in either direction. Costing US$471.6 million, the project is expected to take nearly two years to complete.     Vietnam's Quang Ninh province has backed a new design proposed by Japanese developer SE Group for the 4.3km Bach Dang Bridge. The new design will change the original prestressed concrete bridge design to a steel cable-stayed bridge.     Funding has been found for a new beltway project in Vietnam. The work will be financed jointly by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).
