A series of new transport intrastructure projects are now getting underway in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City. In all, 13 key traffic projects are being carried out, having been planned by the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) management board for traffic projects.

The works are worth a total of US$150 million. One of the projects involves building the 124m My Thuy 3 bridge, which will carry three lanes of traffic in either direction. Another of the main projects involves building an overpass, as well as road stretches and a footbridge, beside the Mien Dong coach terminus.

A new steel bridge will take the place of the An Phu Dong ferry, while the new Kenh B and Kenh A bridges will also be built. Upgrade work will be carried out to Huynh Tan Phat Street, Dong Van Cong Street, Tran Van Giau Street and Duong Quang Ham Street.

Other projects being planned include waterway dredging, work to improve canal infrastructure and a new drainage system for Binh Chanh.
