New road links for Mozambique

Two new roads are now being built in Mozambique by Portuguese firm Mota Engil Engenharia. The total package is worth some US$148 million (€116 million). These two roads are the latest in a series of contracts Mota Engil Engenharia has won in Mozambique during 2010. The company is already carrying out some €165 million of work on road, bridge and other infrastructure projects.

The Chinese contractor China Overseas Engineering Group Co (Covec) is appealing against a decision made by the Polish national road authority GDDKiA.     A series of important new road links in Malaysia are now being built in a project worth some US$107.7 million. The project is being carried out by local contractor WCT Holdings. The deal was awarded to the contractor by the oil company Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Corp (Petronas). The contract involves the construction of permanent and construction access roads for the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) complex that Petronas is building in Malaysia’s Johor State.
