Several major road projects are being planned in Poland at present. One project is for a new 15km stretch of the S7 highway, while another is for a 25km stretch of the S19 highway.

Turkish contractor Kolin Insaat Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret, based in Ankara, has won the tender process, which has been managed by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). The firm will build the 25km stretch of the S19 dual carriageway connecting Malewice and Chlebczyn. The package of works is worth €150 million and the deal should be signed in the second half of 2021.

Meanwhile, the former project to build a stretch of the S7 is attracting strong interest, having received six bids so far. The 15km section of the S7 Dual carriageway will connect the Lesznowola junction with the Tarczyn Polnoc junction. Amongst the bidders are Strabag, Intercor and a consortium comprising Mirbud and Kobylarnia.
