New Oman highway road project

In Oman plans are in hand for a major road widening project. The project calls for the widening of the 715km Adam-Thumrait highway. Local contractor, Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting Establishment (GTGC) made an offer of US$285.7 million for phase one of the project. GTGC also offered $229.9 million for the second phase of the project. In Oman plans are in hand for a major road widening project. The project calls for the widening of the 715km Adam-Thumrait highway. Local contractor, 2379 Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting Establishment (GTGC) made an offer of US$285.7 million for phase one of the project. GTGC also offered $229.9 million for the second phase of the project. Other contractors have submitted bids including Galfar Engineering and Contracting, 945 Strabag Oman, Ozkar Construction Co, Consolidated Contractors Co, Dogus Construction Oman and Khalid Bin Ahmed & Sons. The project will see the road being widened to a four lane dual carriageway along its length.
