New Malaysian highway projects planned for 2015

Malaysia is planning a series of new hew highway construction projects that will commence in 2015. The Works Ministry of Malaysia has plans for seven new highway projects with a combined value of US$6.19 billion to begin in 2015. The projects include the Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Highway (SKIP), the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) extension and the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). Malaysia is planning a series of new hew highway construction projects that will commence in 2015. The Works Ministry of Malaysia has plans for seven new highway projects with a combined value of US$6.19 billion to begin in 2015. The projects include the Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Highway (SKIP), the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) extension and the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). Total cost of the West Coast Expressway, which will stretch 233km between Banting in Selangor state and Taiping in Perak state on the Malaysian peninsula, is expected to be around $1.56 billion. The highway will be built over five years as a build-operate-transfer project with a concession of 50 years, The Star newspaper reported in February 2014.

  • Malaysian elevated highway project planned

    The tender process is underway in Malaysia for the construction of a stretch of elevated highway in capital Kuala Lumpur. The raised section will run from the interesction with the Sprint Highway and Maarof Road to the intersection with Sprint Highway with Semantan Road. The cost of the project has not so far been revealed.
