New highway in Pakistan being built

Work is now underway in Pakistan on the new Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab highway. This 193km highway is expected to cost close to US$124 million to construct. The Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab Road (M-8) in Pakistan will connect Gwadar Port with Quetta by connecting the port with the eastern, central and western routes of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

    Construction work is due to commence shortly on a new road link connecting Kenya and Tanzania. The 450km route will connect the cities of Bagamoyo in Tanzania with Kenya’s key port, Mombasa.     A new bypass project is being planned for Krasnodar in Russia. Building work for the Krasnodar’s North-West Bypass is expected to commence in 2018. The 57km bypass project includes building two overpasses and seven interchanges. Construction of this new bypass will join the M4 Don highway with the Yeyskoye Highway and the Krasnodar-Temryuk-Bely route. The project is costing US$430.6 million and forms part of a wider plan to improve connectivity around the Black Sea.

  • Chinese tunnel construction project tenders

    The tender process is now underway for the massive tunnel project for Guangzhou City in China. The tunnel will measure 5.3km in length and the project will also include building approach roads measuring a total of 3.6km. The new tunnel will be built in the city’s Nansha District and will provide a connection under the Zhujiang River Estuary. Building the tunnel and the associated connecting roads is expected to cost US$618 million.
