The third would see the construction of a highway between Béni Mellal and Marrakesh, with a direct connection between Ben Guérir and Safi. Béni Mellal is two hours from Casablanca, Marrakesh and Fez and has industrial potential while its airport is being expanded. With regard to the by-pass east of Marrakesh, it forms part of a plan to develop road infrastructure around Morocco’s largest cities and would also improve access to the South-East of the country.
