New highway in China’s Ma'anshan city

A new highway link is planned to be built in China’s Ma'anshan city. The 19km link will improve traffic flow between the centre of the city and the Bowang District. Costing US$147 million, the new link will feature dual lanes for traffic in either direction. Construction will be carried out in three separate phases, with work on the first phase expected to commence at the end of 2018 and with tendering due for the second and third phase in due course.

    A new bridge project is being planned for the German city of Bonn. The city has three bridges crossing the Rhein River, the North, South and Kennedy Bridges. The North Bridge is in need of replacement as it is no longer able to meet the city’s traffic needs. The existing structure will be demolished and replaced with a new bridge in a project worth €205 million. Plans should be ready for the new link in 2020, with construction expected to commence in 2028.

    China’s Guizhou Province is developing its transport infrastructure with a major programme of works being scheduled. Construction for six new highways is commencing during 2019, with the work being planned and managed by the Guizhou Provincial Transportation Department. These six highway sections will all feature at least two lanes in either direction, five of which will be for traffic speeds up to 80km/h.
