New highway announced in Bolivia

Bolivia’s highway expansion programme continues with plans unveiled for a new project worth some US$400 million. The highway will be located in the vicinity of Cochabamba. Discussions over financing the project have been carried out with the Latin American Development Bank (CAF). A timeline for the project has not so far been announced however. The route of the highway has also to be announced.

    A highway widening project will be carried out on the route connecting Mumbai with Vadodara in India. A 23.4km stretch of the highway will be widened so that it features four lanes in either direction. A finance package worth US$ 132.5 million has been secured to help carry out the project and the work will be handled by IRB Infrastructure Developers (IRB Infra). The Belgrade to Sarajevo highway is already under construction, with 60km of the link having been built so far. Serbia has taken loans worth €3 billion for its share of the project, with the Turkish Government and various Turkish banks being directly involved in supporting the works
