Plans are moving forward in the Philippines for a new expressway project. Approval for the $420 million Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway project is expected to be given by the end of 2020.

The expressway will extend 50.4km, linking the cities of Cavite and Batangas with spur roads to Tagaytay City and Tuy. Approval for the project will come from the country’s National Economic and Development Authority.

Building this new expressway will help to reduce traffic volumes on the existing Tagaytay highway. The route will link the Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAEx) in Silang municipality with JP Laurel Street in Nasugbu municipality.
