A new expressway is being built in China’s Guangdong Province. The project is being handled by the Chinese firm Zhonghua Construction company. The contract is worth close to US$124 million and should take three years to complete. In all, the expressway will measure nearly 12km in length

    The authorities in China's Shanxi Province are investing heavily in highway expansion. By the end of 2012, the total highway/expressway network Shanxi Province will be some 5,000km. This will cost some US$15.85 billion for expressway construction during the year. A total of 23 expressway projects totalling 1,600km will be constructed during 2012.     A new highway measuring 75km is planned for China’s Hebei Province. An 8km stretch of the route will be built by Shandong Luqiao Construction. The project for the Xiong'an New Area-Beijing highway is complex due to the terrain. Shandong Luqiao Construction will build the SG4 stretch of the route. This section of the route has a contract value close to US$208 million and involves building six bridge sections within a two year period.

    China’s Guizhou Province is setting out a massive budget for road expansion to boost access to rural areas. This will see the construction of some 50,000km of roads in 2018. In all US$3.15 billion is being spent on road development. So far 35,000km of road projects are underway in Guizhou Province with nearly 9,400km of road jobs already having been completed. By the end of the second quarter of 2018, all of the planned projects within this programme of works will be underway or complete.
