New Chinese expressway project

Construction is underway in China for a major new highway project measuring 240km. The new highway will connect Nanchong with Chengdu, forming part of the route linking Shanghai with Chendu.

Sichuan Expressway Construction and Development Group won the US$5.66 billion package for the project. Around 63km of new highway will be built. Another 177km of existing highway will be widened. The firm will have a 30 year concession package for the route while construction will take 36 months.
