The project is costing US$364 million and will improve transport to and from Nansha, one of the 11 urban districts for the city of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province. Nansha plays a key role as this is the location of Guanzhou’s major port area. Improving transport will boost transport and commerce. The bridge will take around 36 months to build and will be 4.64km in length, with a speed limit for drivers of 60km/h.
