New Australia bridge built at the weekend

In Adelaide, South Australia, a new bridge has been constructed over the Southern Expressway. The 180m long bridge weighs 3,000tonnes and was slid into place over the weekend of the 25th and 26th November, 2017. The Main South Road bridge project has cost US$494 million (A$620 million). A second span will be slid into position in early 2018. The project method has called for the construction of the bridges adjacent to the installation site, the first time the technique has been utilised in Australia.

    A number of tower cranes have helped complete the Chishi Grand Bridge project in China. Six Potain tower cranes were used to build two 280m tall bridge pylons, high in the clouds above the mountains of southern China.
