Myanmar bridge on track

Work is said to be progressing on track in Myanmar (Burma) on the Ayeyawady Bridge (Pakokku) project.

Work is said to be progressing on track in Myanmar (Burma) on the Ayeyawady Bridge (Pakokku) project. Some 79% of the work has now been completed. When the structure is ready for use it will be the country's biggest bridge. The bridge will feature two lanes of vehicle traffic and will also have a rail connection. The main structure of the bridge will be 3.5km long.

    Construction work is now underway for the No3 Thanlyin Bridge in Myanmar. The project is costing US$300 million with the work being carried out by a group of Japanese firms. Funding for the project has been provided by a loan facility from Japan. The new bridge will measures 1,928m in length and is being built 125m from the existing No1 Thanlyin Bridge.
