Major Indonesian highway project on track

Indonesia’s Trans Papua road is due to be completed in 2018, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. This 847km road is being constructed in stages and is intended to boost both trade and transport. The project is expected to cost up to US$867.52 million to complete.

    The construction of two new national roads is being considered in Indonesia. Costing some US$296 million to build, the roads would form part of the Trans Papua network. One of the routes would run around 98km, connecting Wamena with Paro. Meanwhile the other road would connect Paro and Mumumu.
