Major highway projects awarded in Vietnam

A new four lane highway is planned in Vietnam, linking the city of Da Nang and Thua Thien-Hue Province. This 77km highway is due for completion by 2016. Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport of has awarded build-transfer-operate (BOT) contracts worth some US$540.5 million for the the La Son-Tuy Loan Expressway project.

    Work is now starting on a new stretch of motorway in Hungary. The project was awarded to the Colas Hungaria-Colas Ut consortium and is worth some €54.74 million.     A budget of US$8.97 billion has been set as the limit on borrowing for India’s highways development programme for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. The financing agreement has been made by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), acting through the country’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This substantial budget comes in spite of fewer projects being awarded as well as less financing having been secured during 2016.
