The Brazilian Government will open tenders for 14 highway projects during 2022. The projects will be worth an estimated US$14.43 billion.

One of the biggest of the tenders will be for the BR-381/262 project connecting Minais Gerais and Espirito Santo, which is expected to be worth $1.26 billion. There will be six highway tenders for Parana State worth an estimated $7.94 billion.

The tender process has been extended meanwhile for the BR-040 highway, which links Brazil’s Federal District with Goias State and Minair Gerais State. The tender for the project will be run before the end of 2022. Although the project was awarded previously there were a number of issues with the contract and the deal was then taken back under the control of Brazil’s land transport body ANTT.
