Krasnodar-Kerch highway project planned

A new Krasnodar-Kerch highway project is being planned.

A new highway connection will improve transport between Krasnodar and Kerch in Russia. The project has been awarded to the contractor Transstroymekhanizatsiya, a subsidiary of Mostotrest. 

The contract is worth US$888.6 million for the 68km highway. The first section will be from Bely to the A-289 interchange. This stretch is intended to be ready for traffic by 2024. The second section of the highway will link with the planned Krasnodar Far Western Bypass.

The PPP project is expected to cost US$515.4 million and the new link will provide a connection with the M4 Don federal highway. However it is also recognised that the cost of the tolled highway project could increase. The bypass will feature two lanes in either direction and will measure close to 53km long. Included in the project will be the construction of three interchanges, four bridges and 10 overpass
