Key Turkish bridge tender open

The tender process for Turkey's third Bosporus Bridge project is now open.

The tender process for Turkey's third Bosporus Bridge project is now open. The bridge is planned to be constructed under a build-operate-transfer deal with tendering being finalised on 23rd March 2011. The bridge will carry a highway as well as rail connections and is seen as a priority project by the Turkish Government. The third Bosporus Bridge will cost US$6 billion to build according to estimates and is due for completion in five years. The project will connect Garipce near Istanbul with Poyrazkoy in Asia.

    Plans are moving forward in Turkey for the construction of a new highway project. Mott MacDonald has been named lenders’ technical advisor by the IC Ictas-Astaldi (ICA) consortium for a 60km section of the Northern Marmara highway. This deal is significant and the stretch forms the first of a number of phases of the highway. The project is being delivered under a 10 year, US$2.5 billion public-private partnership (PPP).

    The tender process is underway in Brazil for the BR-153 Federal Highway, a project estimated to be worth US$1.89 billion. The BR-153 Belem Brasilia Highway route measures 625km long, connecting Anapolis, in Goias state, and Alianca do Tocantins, in Tocantins State. The tender is being handled by Brazil’s Land transport agency Agencia Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) and the auction will take place on 23rd May 2014. The work involves widening the road within five years of the concession being grante
