Key toll road projects underway in Indonesia

Work is progressing on the second phase of a new tolled highway in Indonesia, with a consortium carrying out the construction of the connection between Kualanamu and Tebing Tinggi. The consortium comprises three state-owned construction firms, Pembangunan Perumahan (PP); Hutama Karya; Waskita Karya and toll road operator, Jasa Marga. Work is progressing on the second phase of a new tolled highway in Indonesia, with a consortium carrying out the construction of the connection between Kualanamu and Tebing Tinggi. The consortium comprises three state-owned construction firms, 5204 Pembangunan Perumahan (PP); 5206 Hutama Karya; Waskita Karya and toll road operator, 1083 Jasa Marga. Construction of the second phase of the project, the connection between Kualanamu Airport and Tebing Tinggi, is underway. In all the construction of the first and second phases of the project will cost some US$522.6 million.

    A series of major highway projects are in planning for Indonesia. A joint venture comprising Waskita Karya and Jasa Marga is now taking over Solo-Kertonoso Toll Road project.     Millions of US dollars are being poured into new and expanding toll road projects in Indonesia. Wijaya Karya (Wika), the Indonesian government-owned construction service provider, will build toll roads linking Kedung Badak to Kedung Halang and Pandaan to Gempol in Bogor through two contracts worth US$36.35million (IDR 340.80bn) and US$23.98million (IDR 225bn), respectively.
