Key Qatar projects underway

Work is now being carried out on three major road projects in Qatar. The work is worth over US$2.58 billion in all. One project is for an upgrade to the North Road corridor. This will add dedicated cycle tracks and pedestrian bridges and another lane to the main carriageway between Al Khartiyat and Duhail. The work is due for completion in the last quarter of 2016. Work is now being carried out on three major road projects in Qatar. The work is worth over US$2.58 billion in all. One project is for an upgrade to the North Road corridor. This will add dedicated cycle tracks and pedestrian bridges and another lane to the main carriageway between Al Khartiyat and Duhail. The work is due for completion in the last quarter of 2016. Another project is for the $980 million Lusail Expressway, which is 5.3km long and due for completion on 2017. The third is for the 9.9km long Dukhan Road (East) project, worth some $1.02 billion and scheduled for completion by 2017. This last also includes some 10km of microtunnelling, as well as the construction of 3.4km of Al Gharafa Road and 6.5km of dual carriageway.
