Plans are moving ahead in Poland for the construction of a new dual carriageway stretch. The 19km section of the S11 dual carriageway will be built by Mostostal Warszawa and the project is worth €108 million.

Construction should start in the third quarter of 2021 and the route is due for completion during 2023. This stretch of the S11 will link Zegrze Pomorskie with Klanino.

The S11 is intended to link Central Pomerania with Silesia through Wielkopolska. A number of bypass sections for the route have already been built, such as the Szczecinek Bypass, while the Olesno and Kępno Bypasses are under construction. However, the Zegrze Pomorskie to Kłanino section is the first section of the S11 dual carriageway that is entering the implementation stage, according to Mostostal Warszawa.

At present the necessary preparation and design works are being carried out to schedule. The alignment for much of this section of the S11 runs through woodland, which is being cleared. It also runs to the south of the former Zegrze Pomorskie airport, and to the north of Krępa and Dragiń.
