Key Polish projects are underway or compelte

The Polish town of Marki is to benefit from a new 15km ring road, which will be constructed by a consortium comprising the contractors 1324 Astaldi and Salini. The project has a total value of some €167.4 million. The first section will measure 8.1km and run from Kobylka and Marki junctions. Salini plans to complete this stretch in 32 months. Meanwhile, the second section will run between Radzymin Pld and Kobylka junctions and will be completed in 36 months. Meanwhile work on the final section of the S8 road has been completed in Lodzkie. This 33km stretch of road will reduce travel times between Lodz and Wroclaw to two hours. The work cost some €332.4 million to carry out.

  • Contract for Romanian highway construction signed

    In Romania the road authorities have signed a deal for the construction of a 22km stretch of highway in a contract worth €91 million. The Portuguese contractor Monte Adriano will construct the section linking Nadlac with Pecica. Romania has pledged to improve and expand its highway network with the construction of new links, and much of the funding for its highway plans has been provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

    Bids are now being received for an important tunnel project in northern Poland. The country’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has had four offers worth between €194 million and €259 million for the construction of the tunnel. The new link is planned to be built in Swinoujscie and will run under the Swina River to Uznam Island with Wolin Island.
