Key Polish projects are underway or compelte

The Polish town of Marki is to benefit from a new 15km ring road, which will be constructed by a consortium comprising the contractors 1324 Astaldi and Salini. The project has a total value of some €167.4 million. The first section will measure 8.1km and run from Kobylka and Marki junctions. Salini plans to complete this stretch in 32 months. Meanwhile, the second section will run between Radzymin Pld and Kobylka junctions and will be completed in 36 months. Meanwhile work on the final section of the S8 road has been completed in Lodzkie. This 33km stretch of road will reduce travel times between Lodz and Wroclaw to two hours. The work cost some €332.4 million to carry out.

    Astaldi, a global construction company based in Rome, has won a contract worth nearly €222 million for construction of Poland’s S7 dual carriageway between Naprawa and Skomielna Biala.     Plans are underway for the Warsaw Ring Road project in Poland. Italian contractor Astaldi made the lowest offer for the project at €289.95 million. The work calls for a 4.6km section of the route to be constructed, including what will be Poland’s longest road tunnel once complete. There have been 10 bidders for the tender, being handled by the Polish road authority GDDKiA. Other bidders included the Porr Polska consortium and a construction consortium comprising contractors Budimex and Strabag.
