Official permission has been received for Malayisa's New Pantai Expressway (NPE) project. Tendering will commence in due course on the planned New Pantai elevated highway extension to Ampang-Kuala Lumpur. The expressway project will be offered under a private concession deal.

    Malaysian construction group Bina Puri has submitted bids for contracts worth US$768.73 million for work on eight infrastructure projects, including the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway. The 31.8km Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway will reduce traffic along the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 from Ampang to Bandar Tasik Selatan.   • IJM backs out of deal to buy Malaysian road operator SILK

    IJM, one of Malaysia’s largest construction conglomerates, has bailed out of a deal to buy the highways concession business SILK. SILK Holdings, owner of the subsidiary SILK, Sistem Lingkaran-Lebuhraya Kajang, and IJM agreed to end the US$118 million takeover deal that was announced in June, the Sun newspaper reported.   • Malaysian elevated highway project planned

    The tender process is underway in Malaysia for the construction of a stretch of elevated highway in capital Kuala Lumpur. The raised section will run from the interesction with the Sprint Highway and Maarof Road to the intersection with Sprint Highway with Semantan Road. The cost of the project has not so far been revealed.
