Key India highway projects commencing

Six major highway projects are planned to boost transport connections in India’s Rajasthan State and are worth a total of US$726.2 million. Work is now commencing on three of the new National Highway routes and these projects are worth $236 million. Work is planned to start in due course on the remaining three National Highway routes, with these projects worth $490.2 million.

These are all for national highway projects, with the work being managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The roads will measure a total of 700km and will be constructed in Andra Pradesh State and Gujarat State.     Construction of the 77km-long Merdare-Nis highway in Serbia is to benefit from external financing. A funding package worth €100 million is being supplied by the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the project.
