A new bridge is planned for the busy A40 Autobahn route, which will be constructed at a busy intersection close to Duisburg. The bridge will stretch for 4.4km in all and construction is expected to commence in 2020, with the work being handled in two phases. The A40 route is important as it connects with the Netherlands and carries a high percentage of heavy truck traffic.

    Austrian contractor Strabag will lead the consortium constructing a stretch of the S7 expressway in Poland. Strabag is teaming up with Heilit+Woerner for the project to build the Trasa Nowohucka section of the S7 linking Rybitwy and Igołomska and lying to the east of Kraków.     Plans are in hand in Canada to extend Highway 427 by 6.6km. The final decision over the project has yet to be made by the Ontario Government. The work is expected to cost in the region of C$500 million (US$491 million) to carry out. The work is required as the highway carries a heavy traffic volume and the extension will help reduce congestion in the surrounding area. The work should commence in 2017 once the necessary approvals have been given and the construction would then require an estimated 36 months.
